About Our Practice

Established in the 1930s, 202 Family Dentistry is a true legacy practice. The original dentist was also the Mayor, and his name was Dr. Drilling (we aren’t kidding). Generations of dentists have cared for the families of Tulare in this building since and some of our patients are over 100 years old and have never been to another dental office!

Dr. Dennis Buhler acquired the practice in 1973, and in 2006 his daughter Dr. Jocelyn Iverson took over. Dr. Buhler is still involved with the practice, but now as his daughter’s associate.

202 Family Dentistry is located in the old downtown area of Tulare, near Zumwalt Park. We are across the street from the old county courthouse and around the corner from Tulare Union High School.

Finally, we want you to know we will go above and beyond to make you feel relaxed and safe. Not only is your physical comfort important to us, but your emotional comfort is as well. So, come in, recline and unwind – you’re in great hands.

Jocelyn Buhler Iverson, DDS

Dr. Jocelyn Buhler Iverson

Dr. Iverson grew up in Tulare County and graduated from Redwood High School in Visalia in 1997. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from UC Davis and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCSF, School of Dentistry in 2005.

Dr. Iverson is committed to continuing education and takes many advanced courses each year to enhance her skills to serve the dental care needs of her patients better and provide them with a gentle and comfortable dental experience. She especially enjoys courses in the field of esthetic dentistry and finds her attention to detail, and artistic nature is suited to cosmetic dentistry. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Tulare-Kings County Dental Society, and the Tulare-Kings County Implant Study Club.

When she isn’t caring for patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She loves living in the town where she grew up and is grateful that her children can have a similar childhood. Together they enjoy roaming around the mountains and boating on Lake Kaweah and Pine Flat Lake.

Dennis K. Buhler, DDS

Dr. Dennis Buhler

Dr. Buhler grew up in Southern California and received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from UCLA. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Dentistry in 1970.

After dental school, Dr. Buhler served as a dentist in the US Army for two years and settled in the Central Valley with his wife, Laurie.

He taught at the UCSF School of Dentistry for 20 years and has extensive experience in treating complex restorative cases. He has been practicing in Tulare for over 40 years.

In his free time, Dr. Buhler enjoys skiing and has a lifelong commitment to living a healthy life.
